Ohhhhhh I am feeling the spring here in Houston!! So much so that I've been spring cleaning and sewing up a storm. You know how you feel when you start organizing things and cleaning out unwanted messes and just get things all ready to start a bunch of new projects? That was me the last month!!
Today, I get to reveal another fun project I finished up at the end of March! Yay!!
Beautiful Carrie Bloomston of Such Designs has a new gorgeous fabric collection coming out in July called Paint!!! She has grabbed a few of us to help show off her stunning new line!! And you know I was excited to use this line...
Last year, Carrie's line, Collage, was an instant hit in the quilting world, and I had the privilege to work with it!! (See this post here all about that!) And one of the things that really inspired me while pattern-testing her Watercolor Quilt pattern was Carrie's free spirited design.
So, this year, after seeing her fabrics, I kept thinking of seasons. I drew out some fun art quilt designs and summer kept speaking to me!! But how would I depict summer??
Ohhhh the tire swing!! Pure, unadulterated, wild, and free fun!! That is summer to me!
I used raw edged applique to create this fun quilt, just as Carrie did with her Watercolor Quilt!
My darling friend and local long-arm quilter, Pam "Quiltaholic" Biswas quilted this fun quilt for me.
She did some awesome tree bark quilting and leaf detail...so wonderful!!
Such fun flowers printed on Carrie's fabric!! I cut a few of them on and appliqued them onto the scene...perfect for Houston summers...
and that tire swing...sigh!!!
This text fabric is definitely my favorite of all of her fabrics. And it comes in several different colors in this line! swoon!!
Ohhhhh all of that crinkly goodness!!
Here's the fun deal:
